About Us

Generator City is an-onsite mobile disaster company built for disaster response. Founded in 2004 by Meg Shanklin while attending The Ohio State University, we’ve shown up for every named category 3 hurricane and beyond-Katrina, Sandy, Rita, Irene, Mathew, and more recently Helene.

Our mission is simple: GET POWER TO PEOPLE WHEN THEY NEED IT MOST. Whether it’s first responders, hospitals, gas stations, police stations, or personal homes-we deliver large volumes of generators at retail prices during natural disasters.

In Hurricane Sandy alone, Generator City supplied thousands of generators to affected communities. But we don’t just deliver and leave. We stayed-for weeks. Even when we had nothing left to sell, we remained to ensure the power was working, the equipment was running, and people had what they needed.

Why? Because WE CARE. We aren’t a “drop and go” operation. We’re boots-on-the-ground, customer-first, and committed to helping people through the worst days of their lives.

WE GUARANTEE OUR GENERATORS WILL WORK-backed by a 90 day performance guarantee-and we’ll be there to help if anything goes wrong.
